I Never Promised You an Organic Garden

I recently saw a disturbing but powerful video out of the UK that will be used in driver’s ed. classes to show kids the dangers of texting while driving. I have put the video in the post below, but be aware that it is quite gruesome and potentially difficult to watch.

I am torn about the effectiveness of a video like this.  It reminds me of the train crossing videos I was subjected to in driver’s ed. that show people being destroyed by trains while trying to race the train.  They were disturbing and to this day I am nervous crossing a train track.  On the other hand, I stop and look both ways and treat the train tracks with respect.

I have been a complete slacker about writing blog posts the past few months, mostly due to Matt starting a new job and us moving into a new home.  So, much like my recent posts, I have a video to share.

My final posting in my blogging marathon this morning is a video I heard about on net@night. It is about what would happen if people acted like the do on Facebook in real life. It definitely make you think twice about friending people…

This week on net@night I heard about a very exciting new web service out called Animoto. Animoto is “a web application that automatically generates professionally produced videos” from a selection of your photos and favorite music. It is amazingly simple to get a high quality video you can send to your friends and family, post on your blog, or use in a presentation. And best of all…it is totally free! (for a 30 second video)
