I want to ride my bicycle
I went for my first ride this evening on a recumbent bicycle. It isn’t actually mine, however. I borrowed it from a friend, and it was probably one of the best bike rides I’ve ever had. It took some getting used to the balance and steering, but once I had that down, it was really comfortable. Matt and I rode from our house down the local greenway and then back down the greenway to my office and back home. I’m not sure of the actual mileage, but we spent about an hour total. Had I taken this ride on my normal walmart-special bike I would have been totally exhausted and sore. On this bike, however, I felt great. I could honestly see myself doing a lot more riding with a bike like that.
Unfortunately, these bikes are expensive. I looked some on eBay and the average price was $500. For me, that is a LOT for a bike. I guess it is another thing to add to my ever growing wish list of things to buy when Matt finally gets a “real” job.

I’m glad you had a good experience on the recumbent. I like to think of them as cheap transportation rather than expensive bikes. Anyway, I’m sure there will be plenty of chances to borrow that recumbent again.
