FYI – fraudulent charges on my bank account
I was recently the unfortunate recipient of a fraudulent charge on my bank account. It was not a large amount, quite the contrary, it was only $9.65. The charge appeard to be from “SIGMA; 888-882-6394″ and upon doing some online research, I found out this is a scam. The company is getting individual’s credit or debit card numbers and making small fraudulent charges. When you call the number to dispute the charge, they gather further information from you to use for identity theft.
My bank quickly took care of the problem, and I am getting a new debit card but be careful! Always be sure to check every transaction that comes through your account and be sure you know where they came from. I have no idea how these people got my card number but they did.
